At the conclusion of last night’s NCAA Championship new polls touting the top teams for 2016-17 were released.
Louisville generally was a Top 10 team based on the 6 polls that made their debut last night, but CBS Sports’ Gary Parrish didn’t fall in line with that and has the Cards at #22.
Of course much of this speculation hinges on several off-season factors: The status of Chinanu Onuaku, what transfer/graduate transfer/JUCO/Freshman the Cards will land with the one remaining scholarship, etc. For now it’s all just speculation.
ESPN: Louisville #5
Sporting News: Louisville #5
SB NATION: Louisville #5
Bleacher Report: Louisville #9
NBC Sports: Louisville #10
CBS Sports (Parrish): Louisville #22
Of course Ken Pomeroy also tweeted his Top 10 a few weeks ago citing Louisville as his pre-season #1 team.
Preseason top 10: 10) Virginia, 9) Indiana, 8) Wisconsin, 7) Oregon, 6) UNC, 5) Duke, 4) Kansas, 3) Villanova, 2) Kentucky, 1) Louisville
