The Cards will tip-off TONIGHT at 8:00 EST/7:00 CST versus the Purdue Boilermakers in West Lafayette, IN. Purdue (5-2) is fresh off an 89-64 win over #2 Arizona in the Battle 4 Atlantis. But Purdue did drop its 1st two games in the Bahamas when they lost 78-75 to Tennessee in Game 1 and then fell 77-73 to Western Kentucky. Purdue also owns a decided victory over Marquette 86-71 this year.
This will be a tough game for the Cards. Purdue is an efficient scoring team from outside & inside AND the Boilermakers really rebound the basketball at a high rate. The Boilers have the size that gave UofL problems on the glass late last season and also really defend.
Matt Painter is a very good coach and this is Louisville’s 1st road test under new head coach David Padgett who is leading a team that is relying a great deal (early on) from freshman. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Louisville fall tonight (Cards are 7 point underdogs) so Cardinal fans can really get a good feel tonight for their team win or lose.
