Friday was a flurry of news within the Louisville Football program and that continued when the Cards landed its 17th commitment of the 2016 recruiting class when Defensive Lineman Caleb Tillman from Northview HS in Dothan, AL made his pledge to UofL.
The 6’3, 265 lbs Tillman was recruited by L.D. Scott and is a 3-star prospect by all 3 major scouting services and is the #21 player in the state of Alabama. In Louisville’s scheme Caleb projects to play the defensive end position and has similar incoming size that current starters Sheldon Rankins and Pio Vatuvei had in high school.
Tillman chose Louisville after decommitting from Mississippi State and held offers from North Carolina, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, and Kentucky. Caleb Tillman joins Tabarius Peterson, Keion Wakefield, Mike Boykin, Jawon Pass, Malik Staples, Dwayne Wallace, Taylor Yamanhoa, Seth Dawkins, Desmond Fitzpatrick, Baylen Buchanan, Rodjay Burns, Robbie Bell, Derek Dorsey, Austin Cummins, and Austin Johnson in the 2016 signing class this February. We will continue to monitor the Tylin Oden situation and hope that this is indeed commitment #18 rather than #17 for the Cards come February.
