The NCAA has granted waivers for Louisville Linebacker Monty Montgomery & Wide Receiver Braden Smith to play college football for the 2023 season. Both players suffered injuries during the 2021 that shortened their season. Monty appeared finally back in form during the Boston College game while Braden Smith’s multiple surgery recovery set him back until late this year.
Monty had 70 tackles, 11 TFLs, 6 sacks, 2 INTs and 4 Forced Fumbles in 2022.
Braden Smith had 21 catches for 215 yards and 1 TD receiving. Braden also was Louisville’s primary punt returner and was 6 of 9 passing for 146 yards and 1 TD and 1 INT.
