Center Grove class of 2017 athlete Russ Yeast announced he has committed to Louisville. The 5’11” 183lb prospect and one time Kentucky commit chose the Cards over the likes of Auburn, Iowa, Ole Miss, UK, and Alabama. From Greenwood, Indiana, Yeast can play a variety of positions including both running back and wide receiver but more than likely projects as a defensive back for the Cardinals. He is rated a 4-star by ESPN and Scout.com while being ranked the #271 prospect nationally by Scout.
With only a handful of spots left in the class of 2017, Yeast was at the top of the recruiting board for Louisville due to his athleticism and playmaking ability. The son of former UK player Craig Yeast, Russ is the 22nd commitment in the Cardinals’ 2017 class.
Over the course of his senior season, Yeast has recorded 964 yards on 125 carries (7.7 yards per carry) and 10 touchdowns. He has also caught 19 receptions for 356 yards (18.7 yards per catch) with 5 touchdowns.
