The No. 4 seed Louisville women’s basketball team is set to begin its journey at the 2023 Ally ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament Friday afternoon and they now know who they will be going up against. The Cardinals will face off with the No. 12 seed Wake Forest Demon Deacons, after they defeated Florida State in the second round on Thursday. It will be the Demon Deacons third game in three days as they defeated Virginia in the first round on Wednesday. Louisville and Wake Forest will be the first of four quarterfinal matchups on Friday and it will begin at 11 a.m. ET and aired nationally on the ACC Network.

This will be the ninth appearance for the Cardinals in the ACC Tournament since they joined the league in the 2014-15 season. Louisville holds a 12-7 all-time record at the tournament, have made the finals three times and won the 2018 tournament championship. This will be the eighth time in their nine appearances that Louisville has a Top-4 seed.

The end of season ACC awards were announced this past week and the Cardinals had two players on the respective teams. Hailey Van Lith was named to the First Team All-ACC and Mykasa Robinson was named to the ACC All-Defensive Team. It was the second-straight season Van Lith earned first team honors and the third-straight year Robinson was named to the All-Defensive team. Robinson is the first player since 2017 to make the All-Defensive team in three-straight seasons.
