It’s a very sad day for Louisville fans every where as the family of Felton Spencer has confirmed that the former Eastern High School standout and Louisville star has passed away.
Felton played at UofL from the 1986-87 season through the 1989-90 season starting all 35 games of his senior year at UofL. Standing 7’0, Felton scored 1168 points during his career, grabbed 694 rebounds and amassed 133 blocks.
Felton was visible throughout the 2022-23 season standing in the tunnel for many Louisville Basketball games this season.
Spencer was drafted 6th overall in the 1990 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. He played 12 seasons in the NBA for the T-Wolves, Jazz, Magic, Warriors, Spurs and Knicks. He scored 3354 points in the NBA.
Felton was an NBA All-Rookie in 1991. 1st Team All-Metro in 1990, and 2nd Team Parade All-American in 1986.
Spencer also coached here in Louisville for Spalding University and Bellarmine.
