University of Louisville women’s basketball has been selected as a No. 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history and will host the first and second round games at the KFC Yum! Center on Friday and Sunday.

The Cardinals will play in the Lexington regional and will open the postseason on Friday with No. 16-seed Boise State (23-9) at 12:00 p.m. ET.

Louisville (32-2) is making its 21st appearance in the NCAA Tournament – eighth straight – and 10th under head coach Jeff Walz.

The Cardinals are coming off ACC regular season and tournament championships and are ranked No. 3 in both the Associated Press and the USA Today Coaches poll. Their 32 wins already rank third all-time in program history.

Junior Asia Durr was named ACC Player of the Year, marking the second time in the last three years that a Louisville player has earned the honor as senior Myisha Hines-Allen was named ACC Player of the Year following her sophomore campaign.

Both Durr and Hines-Allen were named USA Today All-Americans last week.

The Cardinals and Broncos will be followed by No. 8-seed Marquette (23-9) and No. 9-seed Dayton (23-6), which tips at 2 p.m. ET.

The winner of the first round games play on Sunday.
