Louisville Guard Russ Smith was drafted Thursday Night in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers and was promptly traded to the New Orleans Pelicans. After talking with the Pelicans organization, Russ spent some time with the media and discussed the draft process, his frustration with the workout match-ups he was provided with, how well he performed in the those workouts.
Smith is obviously frustrated with the process and several time discusses the ‘Elephant in the Room’ and discusses how he has outperformed much of his competition and yet can’t rise above the decision-makers decisions. Watch the video, it’s clear that Russ Smith is motivated, frustrated, and ready to get to Summer Ball to showcase his ability at the NBA Level.
Best of luck Pelican Russ. Louisville First, Cards Forever. Philadelphia Second, 76ers for a minute, New Orleans Third, Pelican for Who Knows?
