ESPN’s Brett McMurphy is reporting that Mike Summers is Louisville’s new offensive line coach.  Summers was with the Cards during Bobby Petrino’s first tenure with UofL and went to the Atlanta Falcons when Coach Petrino left the Cards in 2007 and also was with Petrino at Arkansas.

Most recently Coach Summers was with the Florida Gators and Coach Jim McElwain in Gainesville, FL.  Summers coached at Kentucky & USC before moving on to Florida.  Summers has nearly 40 years of coaching and is revered among Louisville fans for his Offensive Line development while here in 2003-2006.  He is also the son in law of former Kentucky Basketball Coach Joe B. Hall.

We will have to see what Bobby Petrino’s plan is with Chris Klenakis, who has been coaching the offensive line and is Louisville’s run game coordinator.  We hope to learn more about what Petrino’s plans are with the offensive coaching staff soon.
