PREDICTION
Georgia Tech has lost 4 of its last 5 games by 8 points or fewer….3 of which were on the road. The one win for the Yellow Jackets was in McCamish Pavilion against #4 Virginia. So good luck figuring this GT team out.
This game sets up very similar to when Louisville traveled down to Clemson and took a loss. If the Cards are not ready, they will lose. But this is certainly a game that Louisville SHOULD win.
It will be a big time test of Chinanu Onuaku vs. the big-bodied Charles Mitchell (6’8, 269) who is averaging a double double. Nanu has had a string of double doubles since starting ACC play and as we’ve seen all season, as Onuaku goes so does the Cards. Quentin Snider also has a big test ahead vs. GT’s Adam Smith.
GT is deadly from 3-point range. We’ve seen the Cards in losses get burned from beyond the arc and the Yellow Jackets are more than capable of getting hot from deep. Georgia Tech is also one of the few teams in the country that can rebound with Louisville and neither team shoots foul shots very well.
Louisville’s defense is significantly superior to Georgia Tech’s and that’s why I’m picking the Cards.
Louisville 75, Georgia Tech 68
