LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men’s soccer team earned the No. 4 seed and a first round bye in the 2018 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship, which begins Wednesday with first round matches. The 17th-ranked Cardinals (8-4-3, 4-2-2 ACC) will host an ACC quarterfinal match Sunday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m., ET at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium.

Louisville’s opponent in its quarterfinal clash will be the winner of No. 5 Notre Dame (9-5-2, 4-3-1 ACC) and No. 12 Clemson (7-8-1, 2-6-0 ACC), which meet in a first round match Wednesday night in South Bend, Ind. Tickets for Louisville’s quarterfinal match at Lynn Stadium, priced at $10 for reserved chairback and $5 for general admission/berm, will go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m., ET through the Louisville Cardinals Ticket Office online here, by phone at 502-GO-CARDS or in person at the Cardinal Stadium. Students from any ACC school will receive free admission with a valid student ID.

Wake Forest and North Carolina hold the top two seeds for the 32nd annual ACC Men’s Soccer Championship. Defending ACC Champion Wake Forest (16-1-0, 7-1-0 ACC), currently ranked No. 1 in the country, earned the Atlantic Division title and the top overall seed with 21 points and will host a quarterfinal match against the winner of No. 8 NC State (8-5-3, 2-4-2 ACC) and No. 9 Boston College (4-7-4, 2-5-1 ACC).

North Carolina (12-2-1, 6-1-0) finished the regular season with 18 points to claim the Coastal Division title. The fifth-ranked and No. 2 seeded Tar Heels will host the winner of No. 7 Virginia Tech (9-5-3, 3-4-1 ACC) and No. 10 Syracuse (7-5-4, 1-4-3 ACC) in the quarterfinals. Third-seeded Duke (10-5-1, 5-3-0) will welcome the winner of No. 6 Virginia (9-5-3, 3-4-1 ACC) and No. 11 Pitt (7-10-0, 2-6-0 ACC).

The first round of the 2018 ACC Men’s Soccer Championship will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. The winners will advance to the quarterfinals and will face the top four seeds on Sunday, Nov. 4. The first two rounds, along with the semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 7, will be held at the campus of the higher seed. The championship will be held at noon on Sunday, Nov. 11, at Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina, and will be nationally televised on ESPNU.

Ten of the 12 ACC men’s soccer teams have been ranked this year, and eight currently hold spots in the top 11 of the NCAA RPI.
