University of Louisville women’s basketball signees Asia Durr, Taja Cole, and Samantha Fuehring, three of the five members in Cardinals’ 2015 signing class that is ranked No. 1 nationally, were named McDonald’s All-Americans on Wednesday night on ESPNU.

The three, who make up a school record for most selections in a class, were selected to play for the East Team and will participate in the 14th annual game on April 1 in Chicago’s United Center at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU. The game showcases 24 of the nation’s elite seniors, and Louisville is tied with Connecticut and Notre Dame for the most selections with three.

The No. 1-ranked player according to multiple outlets, Durr has played in 20 games for St. Pius X Catholic in Atlanta and leads the squad with 31.0 points per game, 5.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.6 steals. Durr, who is trying to help the Golden Lions capture another state title, has helped navigate the program to a 20-2 mark. She has connected on 50 percent of her shots, including a 45-percent stint from 3. Durr is knocking down 82 percent of her free throws.

Cole, who has led Lloyd C. Bird High in Virginia to a 12-3 mark, is tallying 20.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 3.2 steals per game this year. The 5-foot-7 guard has scored at least 20 points in all 14 contests in which she has played, counting her season-high 40 on Jan. 6, and is hitting 44 percent of her shots.

Fuehring has competed in 15 games this year for Lodi Immaculate (5-3) in New Jersey and is averaging 16.9 points and 7.5 rebounds along with 2.0 blocks. She has reached double-figure points in 13 contests, while producing five double-doubles. She scored a season-best 33 points on Jan. 10 and had 14 rebounds in the game.

The trio will join 2014 McDonald’s All-Americans and Louisville’s Nos. 1 and 2 scorers in Mariya Moore and Myisha Hines-Allen on next year’s roster. The Cardinals now boast seven McDonald’s All-Americans, all during the Jeff Walz era – the first two were Bria Smith and Sara Hammond.
