Everyone already knows that the Cardinal Basketball team received a commitment from 5-star Small Forward V.J. King. But fans may have missed that Jay Henderson, a transfer who red-shrited his freshman year in 2014-15 at St. John’s, will be joining the Cardinal Basketball program for 2015-16.

Henderson is 6’5″ and is expected to move to campus early next month just in time to be a apart of the Cardinals’ trip to Puerto Rico in August, is also eligible to play immediately. Henderson also has 4-years of eligibility at UofL. Jay scored over 1000 points in H.S. at Orlando Lake Highland (FL) where he was able to win back-to-back state championships.

Henderson decided to leave St. John’s after the school replaced Steve Lavin with Chris Mullin. Rivals profile of Henderson indicates that Jay held offers from Columbia, Dayton, Florida State, Mississippi State, Purdue, Seton Hall, St. Joseph’s, and Stanford coming out of high school.
