The College Football Playoff Selection Committee announced its second rankings set of the Top 25. Alabama is No. 1, Clemson No. 2, Michigan No. 3 and Washington is No. 4.

The committee will prepare four more rankings this season, including the final set on Selection Day, Sunday, December 4. The top four teams in the final rankings will play in the Playoff Semifinals on December 31, 2016, at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl and Fiesta Bowl.

“The deliberations over much of the rankings this week were long and detailed,” said selection chairman Kirby Hocutt. “There are very close calls at virtually every level. It is clear every member of this committee pays close attention to these games and they come prepared to discuss each team in great detail.”
