Sunday morning Louisville Football gained its 24th commitment of the 2015 recruiting class when Former Big 12 Player of the Year and Trinity Valley Community College, 6’5, 250 lbs 4-star defensive end (OLB) Devonte Fields made his pledge to the Cardinals. Fields won the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Award as a redshirt freshman during the 2012 season. Originally out of the 2011 class, Fields was the #4 Defensive End in the Nation and the #111th player overall with offers from TCU, Arizona, Oklahoma, Michigan, and Texas A&M.  Fields was rated as the #2 JUCO player overall in 2015.

Devonte Fields joins Emonee Spence, Sheldrick Redwine, Kenny Thomas, Jeremy Smith, Drew Bailey, Geron Christian, Jaire Alexander, Dee (Darius) Smith, Amonte Caban, Paul Harris, Trey Smith, Lamar Jackson, Jaylen Smith, GG Robinson, Traveon Samuel, Khane Pass, Tim Bonner, Khalil Hunter, Cole Hikutini, James Allen, Matt Colburn, Chandler Jones, and Jonathan Greenard in the 2015 recruiting class.
