Georgia linebacker Kam Jones committed to Louisville Sunday choosing UofL over the likes of Mississippi State, Missouri, and Northwestern. The 6’1″ 223lbs prospect from Suwanee, GA is the 10th player in the class of 2017 and the second linebacker (Tadarrius Patterson).

Evaluation:
A well built linebacker that runs exceptionally well, Jones is the aggressive backer that thrives in a Coach Grantham defense. Judging by both his speed and size it would appear Jones could play both inside and outside linebacker for UofL although his coverage ability would also dictate this, something not shown in his highlights. What he does do well as shown repeatedly in his highlights is not only terrorizing opposing quarterbacks, but making his presence felt in the run game as he is very physical. In recent years Louisville has had some exceptional linebackers and Jones may very well be the next in line. This is an excellent pick up for Coach Petrino and staff.
