Louisville football picked up a surprise commitment late Thursday night when Tallahassee, FL athlete Marcus Riley announced his commitment to Louisville, the first in the class of 2018. The versatile player who could play both slot wide receiver and running back at the next level was described by one source familiar with Riley as a “beast” who is “electric” and reminds them of a high school version of Florida’s Treon Harris. Riley chose the Cards despite offers from UCF, USF, and Florida.

Evaluation:

Dynamic. Explosive. Playmaker. Fast. Shifty. I could go on and on. Riley is an up and coming talent that is a game changer on the offensive side of the field. At his current size, he projects as a slot receiver/RB but, depending on how much he grows, that may change. Riley has the ability to make a lightning quick cut and get downfield in a hurry. He is definitely the type of player you want the ball in their hands and would be an incredible asset to a Petrino coached offense.
