The sixth-ranked Louisville baseball team begins a busy stretch of five games in six days with back-to-back midweek games against Western Kentucky and No. 9 Kentucky. The Cardinals host the Hilltoppers on Tuesday at 6 p.m., ET on Cancer Awareness Night at Jim Patterson Stadium before visiting the Wildcats on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., in a game a previously scheduled for last week but postponed by rain. Tuesday’s game will be streamed on CardsTV and Wednesday’s game will be available for viewing on SEC Network+ (WatchESPN). Ranked No. 6 in this week’s Collegiate Baseball newspaper poll, Louisville (24-7, 10-5 ACC) dropped two of three games at fifth-ranked Florida State last week marking the third road series loss of the season for the Cardinals with all three coming against teams currently ranked in the top 10. At the midpoint of the ACC schedule, the Cardinals are in second place in the Atlantic Division with a 10-5 record. On the mound, Louisville has seven shutouts (No. 1 nationally) while allowing two or fewer earned runs in 18 of its 31 outings this season. Entering the week, the pitching staff is ranked fourth in the nation in hits allowed per nine innings at 6.77 and 13th in ERA at 2.91. Offensively, the Cardinals are fourth nationally with a .327 team batting average, ninth in on-base percentage at .417 and 11th in scoring at 8.4 runs per game.

ABOUT THE HILLTOPPERS
WKU is 18-13 overall and 6-6 in Conference USA after losing two of three at home to Louisiana Tech last week. Under the guidance of first year head coach John Pawlowski, the Hilltoppers are paced offensively by third baseman Danny Hudzina, who is hitting .443 with 23 RBI, and outfielder Kaleb Duckworth, who has a .359 average and 23 RBI. Last season, WKU was 24-28 overall and finished 12th in Conference USA with a 10-19 record.

SERIES HISTORY
Louisville trails 63-64 in the all-time series with Western Kentucky, which dates back to 1924. The Cardinals are 13-5 against the Hilltoppers under the guidance of head coach Dan McDonnell, including a 17-0 win in Bowling Green on March 29.
