Louisville Baseball rolled Western Kentucky on Tuesday at Jim Patterson Stadium 14-2.  Shane Hummel provided 7 innings of solid pitching for the Cards and allowed just 2 runs on 5 hits in 84 pitches.

Catcher Colby Fitch continued his hot streak at the plate going 4 for 5 with 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs.  Blake Tiberi didn’t have as many At Bats but was just as effective at 2 for 3 and 4 RBIs.

Moving on Louisville to tomorrow night the Cards will travel to Lexington to play a make-up contest from last week.  Righty Kade McClure (6-0, 2.31 ERA) takes the hill vs. UK in a game that will be broadcast on the SEC Network at 6:30 p.m.

ABOUT THE WILDCATS
Kentucky, ranked as highly as ninth in the latest Collegiate Baseball newspaper poll, enters the week at 22-9 overall and 8-4 in the SEC after winning two of three against Alabama last weekend. Under eighth year head coach Gary Henderson, the Wildcats were 30-25 last season and fourth in the SEC East with a 14-15 record.

Series History

The Cardinals trail 61-38-1 in the all-time series with Kentucky, which dates back to 1925. Louisville is 10-9 against the Wildcats under McDonnell and has won three straight in the series. Last season, Louisville earned a 2-1 walk-off win in 10 innings at Patterson Stadium and won a 5-2 decision in Lexington.
