4* Georgia wide receiver Corey Reed has announced his commitment to Louisville. The 6’3″ 200lbs receiver from Atlanta chose the Cards over schools such as Miami, Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, Maryland, and Cincinnati.

“I’ve been there 3 times. For my first visit, I actually fell in love with the school.” Reed said.

“Coach McGee was recruiting me hard. But once they had the coaching change, once Coach Galloway got there, he came straight to me personally and started building a relationship with me”

Reed, rated the #53 wide receiver by Rivals, also talked about Louisville’s style of play “I like their style of offense, how balanced they are.”

At 6’3″, 200lbs and with a 4.5 40, Reed said he is a versatile wide receiver “Playing inside/outside, going deep down the field, making key plays. Basically like a balanced receiver, I can do it all.”

The 19th commitment in the 2017 class and the 5th player from the state of Georgia, Reed said that he talks to current commits TreSean Smith and Malik Cunningham who have been working on getting him to join the class. Has also been talking to top Louisville WR target Justin Marshall, building a relationship with him.

Evaluation:

Corey Reed is an all around receiver, plain and simple. He has good size (6’3″ 200lbs), good speed (4.5 40), works inside and outside, can go up and make a catch over a DB, and is a downfield threat. There isn’t much more you can ask of a receiver. He is yet another big-time receiver Coach Petrino and company have landed (Dawkins, Wakefield, Fitzpatrick, Smith, Peete, Samuel, Spence etc.) and it should make Louisville fans really excited about the playmakers at that position for the future.
